A Scratched surface
28 October - 12 November
Is a creative research project primarily interested in exploring and uncovering an inherited and unresolved history through a layered engagement with surfaced tensions.
Working through photography and different forms of text to capture the living ghosts of Johannesburg, the project is concerned with the persistent return of things from the past, whilst following traces left by the city’s original planners and continuing migrant worker history.
