Wits Young Artist Award ‘23
The Wits Young Artist Award (WYAA) is supported by the point of order and the Wits School of Arts as a platform for both acknowledging and giving exposure to new (earliest 2022) and critical work by senior students of the Wits Fine Art Department.
This year’s award consists of three prizes:
1st Prize / R12 000
2nd & 3rd Prize - Merit Awards / R6 500 each, and an Artist’s Discretionary Award (an exceptional award for this year only) / R5000.
The 2023 edition of the WYAA will be on display at The Point of Order (TPO), Braamfontein.
The WYAA ‘23 chief selector is Dr Same Mdluli, the director of the Standard Bank Art Gallery. Dr Mdluli is supported by Reshma Chhiba and Zen Marie.
