For WYAA’17 we have invited two contemporary curators to conceptualise the exhibition and award, select participants, and put together the final exhibition.

Frequently asked questions (FAQ’s), are listed questions and answers, all supposed to be commonly asked in some context, pertaining to a particular topic, and often presented as existential interrogations. The format is commonly used on email mailing lists and other online forums, where certain common questions tend to recur.

What occurs when one ‘un-shelves’ a failed, unfinished, or unrealized project and interrogates it based on a series of Frequently Asked Questions. The process of relooking triggers an interrogation (in the form of questions) of long-standing value-making traditions such as conventions versus concept, audience, reception, representations and site-specificity.
