NOIZE From The Neo-Archive is an exhibition inspired by the intergenerational practice of documenting and making space for the moments that take place in spaces that we may overlook as gifted archives - for example, the familial household, school classroom, corner shop, car, train, traffic intersection, hair & nail salon, public park, or online site.
The works featured in the show document and poetically confront the way intergenerational experiences move through different timelines, especially in their recognition and creation of Neo-spaces and bodies which inevitably possess these experiences.
The subject matter embedded in these pieces is my pursuit of sighting/ citing socio-political, personal and psychological experiences that have been historically and presently tied to representations and ideations of Black femme identities, lineages, and our contributions to the trajectory and immortality of (artistic) culture in and beyond Southern Africa.
